So ummm, anyone out there know the meaning of life?

Buttload

I find it interesting that some of the terms we use in English language have so many different meanings.

Take the word "Buttload" - I can't find an exact definition anywhere, so assuming:

(1) Boatload
The amount of cargo that can be held by a boat or ship.

(2) Butt (Measured):

a) In 1825 when imperial measure was introduced, the gallon and the butt were redefined. Thus a butt of wine became 105 imperial gallons, or about 477.33 liters.

b) A beer butt is 108 ale gallons (= about 110 imperial gallons, or 3 Barrels of beer ).

so now, if someone tells you they drank a buttload of beer last night, you can say WOW you drank 110 gallons?!!

or, if someone says they did a buttload of work, you can reply snidely.. "yeah right you did NOT lose 916 pounds!!" (assuming 8.33 pounds/gallon of water)

Additionally, a firkin is about 1/4 of a barrel or 9 gallons... so if someone claims they did a firkin buttload of work or lost a firkin buttload of weight, this would be more a reasonable 75 pounds... WOW!!

Us men

Once upon a time there was a female brain cell which, by mistake, happened to end up in a man's head. She looked around nervously because it was all empty and quiet.

"Hello?" she said, but no answer. "Is there anyone here?" she spoke a little louder, but still no answer. Now the female brain cell started to feel alone and scared and yelled at the top of her voice, "HELLO, IS THERE ANYONE HERE?"

Then she heard a faint voice from far, far away......................

"WE'RE DOWN HERE"

*gasp*

Another busy week.. not much time to work on my blog.
But here I'll share a pciture I like

Two Wolves

An elderly Cherokee Native American was teaching his grandchildren about life......

He said to them, "A fight is going on inside me. It is a terrible fight between two wolves. One wolf is evil---he is fear, anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, competition, superiority, and ego. The other wolf is good---he is joy, peace, love, hope, sharing, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, friendship, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. This same fight is going on inside you, and inside every other person, too."

They thought about it for a minute and then one child asked his grandfather, "Which wolf will win?"

The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."

HA HA

Well... It's funny and ironic that I chose to start a blog on one of the busiest weeks I've ever had. Oh well, its a good stress reliever. I'm still trying to decide what direction to go with in this blog. Games? Computers? Music? My favorite ceiling tile at work? Soooo many possibilities!!

Actually I've always wanted to post my rating system on how good a movie is based on how many fingernails I bite off.... hmmmm.

I'll post more and upload some pictures this weekend when I have more time to play!!
